COMMON QUESTIONS

What travelers ask HI9.

Skim these first. The how-it-works and compatibility pages go deeper on setup.

Should I choose a travel eSIM or portable Wi-Fi?

Choose eSIM if you mainly need data on one unlocked, eSIM-ready phone. Choose portable Wi-Fi if several people or devices need to share one connection. Many travelers use eSIM for the phone and a hotspot when a laptop, tablet, or group is involved.

Does HI9 work for travel to a specific country?

Start with your destination, then match a regional or global plan to the device you will use. Coverage is not identical across every network. Send HI9 the country list and travel dates so we can point you to the right option type.

Can I share data with other devices?

Portable Wi-Fi is built for sharing. Phone eSIMs often limit hotspots or tethering. Check the plan terms and your device settings before you rely on sharing for a group.

How do I get started?

Pick a destination, choose eSIM or portable Wi-Fi, then follow the setup steps. If you already own a hotspot, identify the model first. Contact HI9 if you want a plan recommendation for those details.

Will my phone accept a travel eSIM?

The phone must be unlocked and eSIM-capable. Carrier-locked devices and many older models cannot install a travel profile. Check Settings for an eSIM or cellular plan option, and confirm with the device maker if you are unsure.

My hotspot is brand-specific. Can I still get a plan?

Many hotspots only accept plans from their own service ecosystem. Record the manufacturer, model, and any device ID, then confirm that ecosystem before you buy data. HI9 can help you identify what to check.

When does the plan validity start?

It depends on the product. Some plans start at first connection in the destination. Others start at purchase or at a date you select. Always confirm the start rule, time zone, and whether unused days roll over.

What if I need more data during the trip?

Ask about top-up or a second plan before you travel. Some eSIM and hotspot ecosystems allow in-trip add-ons; others require a new profile or a new device-bound package.

Do you sell voice or phone numbers?

No. HI9 focuses on mobile data: eSIM, data plans, and portable Wi-Fi. We do not offer VoIP, virtual numbers, or local calling plans.

How do refunds work?

Refunds depend on whether a plan has been issued, installed, or activated. Read the refund policy and include your destination and order details when you contact us.

Can businesses order for a group?

Yes. Share headcount, destinations, travel window, and whether you need shared hotspots or individual eSIMs. We will outline a practical mix rather than one generic package.

STILL UNSURE

Send the trip details.

Destination, dates, and device model are enough for a useful recommendation.
